bikes and beach

so carter has officially graduated from training wheels. we took them off his bike in the spring, and he was timid and didn't want to ride it anymore. i am not sure what clicked, but he decided on sunday when i ran to target, that he wanted to give it a try. when i got home, he was riding all around as if he had been doing it all summer. i am so proud of him.

mason is now more interested in riding carter's old bike... he is one cool dude!!!

we decided after 4 years of living here, that we should (finally) take the kids to the lake in town. i am not much of a lake person, but i did enjoy that i could sit right there and watch them play w/out having to go in. i am going to get a season pass this week and hopefully we will use it. btw, hadley is not a fan of the water AT ALL!!!! but she was as happy as a clam to just sit on the blanket with me and play.

2 girls and a bow

two of my friends had baby girls in the last couple of weeks, and i couldn't be happier!!! last week Ali came over with baby Hailey. i couldn't believe how small she was. babies really do grow up fast, because Hadley now looked like a giant!!!

yesterday i went to visit my friend Courtney, and her brand new baby girl Drew Harper. this was the first time i have ever guessed what someone was having correctly. i am always wrong!!! i was thrilled when i got the update that she had a girl!!! i also love that Hadley is getting a little group of friends. Courtney and i were pregnant together and both had boys, and it is so fun getting Mason and Graham together for play dates.

along with some clothes, i gave each baby a BIG bow... who knows if they will use it, but i couldn't help myself!!! they still
need to grow into it a bit.

Hadley and Drew -we were sitting under the red umbrella, that is why there is a red/pink glow to the pictures.

7 months old

hadley is 7 months old today. she is such a good girl!!! she figured out how to get herself into a sitting position yesterday. not what i was expecting when i went to get her out of her crib! she is still a great sleeper at night and for her naps. the only area she really needs to get moving on is eating solids. she has NO interest at all!!! she loves when i put ice in her mesh feeder, it must feel good on her teeth, but when i put bananas in it, she was not so happy.

here are pictures from her 7 month photo shoot today. she was not very happy, so i gave her a bath to help settle her. i put her down so i could get her dressed, and when when i got back she was in a sitting position and really happy. i figured i better take her picture fast before she got pissed. so that is why she is in her diaper, no bow, no dress, no nothing.

happy 4th of july

today we had some friends over to celebrate the 4th. after a month of rain, and cool weather, we finally had the perfect day!!! i had a great time!

after a week of vacation, birthday and anniversary celebrations, i can officially say i am FULL. i really need to detox next week and get moving again. i feel gross!!!

oh, and i got a new macbook pro for our anniversary. i am having so much fun getting used to it. i also got a new camera lens for my b-day, so i can zoom in really close now. craig is happy b/c with the purchase of the macbook, he got a free ipod touch. i am pretty sure i see iphones in our future.

here are some pictures from today...

happy anniversary

craig and i celebrated our 9th wedding anniversary yesterday. we had a great day, although nothing this week is going as planned b/c of the rain. we were able to go out for a nice dinner on sat. night. i also celebrated my 32nd birthday on sunday... funny i still feel about 27.

i really feel so lucky to have one of the best husbands i know. he is so good to me and he always makes sure our family is his top priority. this was his facebook status yesterday, and i just love it.

Craig Jacobs wishes his wife a very happy 9th anniversary. Who would have thought that a random wrong number almost 15 years ago would have led to such a wonderful life.

next year i am hoping to be celebrating by sitting in the sun, on a beach, somewhere tropical. i don't really care where, as long as my family is with me. and after a week of cool weather and lots of rain, i think craig is on board too!!!

hadley's first trip to the beach

we went to the beach today to celebrate craig's grandmother's 85th b-day. it was beautiful when we left out house, but when we got there, the temp. started to drop and it was so foggy... we made the best of it. the kids didn't seem to mind how chilly it was. i always forget about the sun on the cooler days, and my back got quite the burn. i put sunblock on the kids, and my face before we left and didn't think i would need it - boy was i wrong!!!

i am looking forward to going back soon... the kids had so much fun!!!

Carter - off to 1st grade

we officially have a kindergarten graduate! i can't believe how big my little boy is!!! he is 6 going on 16!!! where is the pause button when you need it?

carter had a great year with Mrs. Lamb. she was a wonderful teacher, and i really liked her a lot. carter can read now, and is very interested in math. on the last day of school they have "move up day" where they get to meet their new teacher for next year and see who is in his class. since carter is our oldest, we really don't know anything about the teachers. lots of parents like to gossip about what teachers are better than others, but i think it is all crap. i don't personally think it is a bad thing when a teacher is strict... there is plenty of time for fun and games. i want carter to learn, and i want the best environment for him to do that in. ok, back to my thought. next year carter got Mrs. Riccio, but as i said, i don't know anything about her. he is VERY excited that one of his best friends from school will be in his class next year.

here are a couple of pics from the end of the year... the weather here has been really cool and rainy. field day got canceled and then when they had the make up day, it wasn't the best of days either. even on the last day of school it was pouring out, and we couldn't do pictures outside.

Carter and Mrs. Lamb (who is due with a baby boy in oct.)

last day of school... waiting in the house for the bus.

and here is the first day of school to compare... what a difference 9 months makes!!!!
